VirtualBox
4 December 2007
I'm playing a bit with virtualisation and after trying QEMU for a while, which was "ok", I've now discovered VirtualBox
Qemu is nice to get started but VirtualBox is absolutely amazing. It's like running two computers in one. I have windows XP running inside an Ubuntu system and it works very well. No more need to reboot into a different OS to try out pages in a Windows based browser.
The one drawback is those regular moments of the computer not being responsive, with the need to hold the power button for a while. I guess that's the kind of thing Windows users are more familiar with.
Which gets me to the other issue, that the new laptop I bought came with Windows Vista. Very interesting, and I'll make it another subject.
