Tincan Launches Hartlepool Now Site
13 April 2009
We are pleased to announce the launch of the Hartlepool Now site in conjunction with Hartlepool council.
Tincan's Ben Holliday who managed and implemented the project talks here...
Why was the site commissioned?
BH - The council commissioned the site to become the hub for news, events and services for the local community. They wanted to create a separate internet property which wouldn't get lost amongst other local government internet sites.
What goals did the site have?
BH - The main goal was to disseminate information held at the council to the local community and for that to be accessible to everyone, irrespective of their internet experience.
What did we do for them?
BH - Firstly we designed the structure and came up with the feature set. Importantly we structured it to cope with growth in the future without having new investment. We took their new offline branding and translated this online. We also placed search functionality at the center of the site. The site was built to AA accessibility standards.
What does the project show potential clients?
BH - Above all its a good example of Webbler `out of the box` functionality. Webbler can easily facilitate this kind of project without the need for customisation and it can be achieved cost and time efficiently. It was also a good collaborative effort to ensure a successful launch.
