Action for Access
Action for Access gives users the opportunity to survey your local community, and join the campaign for an accessible UK.
Every day disabled people face barriers to doing shopping, visiting the cinema and theatre, paying their bills, using the bank and post office and having a drink in the pub. Despite the Disability Discrimination Act which came into force in 1995, much of the UK remains simply inaccessible to many disabled people.
For our Action for Access project, Tincan really were on board with us from project planning to launch day. Their commitment was 100%, always responding to our evolving requirements with bespoke development and fresh ideas. By integrating Google Maps with the Webbler CMS, we now have a robust yet flexible platform for our growing community site. At actionforacces.org, disabled people have a real opportunity to survey the accessibility of shops, entertainment venues and services in their local community. We're confident that it will become the recognised platform for campaigning and awareness of the need for an accessible UK.
