Hartlepool Now is a new community portal site developed in partnership with Hartlepool Council. The site launched in early 2009.
The council commissioned the site to become the hub for news, events and services for the local community. They wanted to create a separate internet property which wouldn't get lost amongst other local government internet sites.
The main goal was to disseminate information held at the council to the local community and for that to be accessible to everyone, irrespective of their internet experience.
