We're pleased as punch at having launched the new War Horse in London microsite for the National Theatre: http://warhorselondon.nationaltheatre.org.uk
The site replaces the existing War Horse site as the primary marketing vehicle for War Horse. War Horse is one of the NT's most successful productions ever and the new site is part of a major marketing effort by the NT to support the global production as the London venue is joined by other venues on the international stage - on Broadway, New York and in Toronto, Canada. The site has been given a new look, redesigned to include more video and interactive features (such as social network and GoogleMap integration) and brings users the latest news about the production and behind-the-scene updates from London and beyond.
Despite a tight schedule and quick turnaround, the site delivers complexity and functionality we'd expect from other larger web projects and included a project process covering design/prototyping through to system admin, content management and project build.
The London site is the first of several 'regional' sites - one for each of the other venues where the War Horse production is opening. Each regional venue (and their marketing agency) will be managing their own respective microsite so the project has been delivered using WordPress - a simple easy-to-use solution, with good online resources.
All in all, a very pleasing project delivering on key business goals for the project and the National Theatre: adding new value to their marketing efforts, ensuring ease-of-use and developing a solution that can be expanded in tandem with the ongoing global success and phenomenon that is War Horse: http://warhorselondon.nationaltheatre.org.uk/
